In my work, the gestures of the hand and the symbols of the bird merge as tools of expression. Non-verbal communication whether overt or subtle reveals our subconscious emotional responses. My pieces capture these fleeting moments. These half-animal half-human, figures reference the blurring of the boundaries between body and soul, offering a visual language that reflects not only the physical but also the spiritual and emotional aspects of existence. Birds often accompany female representations. Symbolizing the soul, they may reflect stereotypes of the emotional sensitivity, but in anthropomorphic form, as sirens, they also embody deception. The „chimera” explores not only the boundaries between biological beings or genders, but also identities with expressing a yearning for transformation. The objects in my series explore situations arising from cohabitation and the re-emergence of the nuclear family model. I draw a parallel between the activity of nest-building and the vision of creating a shared home - whether it concerns mutual support, conflicts stemming from the loss of personal space, or the challenges of starting over.
